7th Annual Arc in the Park Fun

People were all smiles at the 2008 Arc in the Park, held Saturday October 4th at Creve Coeur Park. More than 600 people were there and our "OlymPicnic" was a smashing success! It was the perfect day for our picnic and to make memories that will last until next year’s event.

Activities included a Tae Kwon Do demonstration, face painting, sailboat racing and even shotput and bocce ball. Participants could also make their own Olympic torches and Olympic passports, dance the afternoon away with DJ Jim, and even meet Arc’s special guest Paralympian Kerri Morgan! Additional entertainment was provided by Magician Larry Minth, and Norton the North Star penguin, Irv Sprous.

Our families and staff enjoyed the fun, the root beer floats and also the great food, grilled up by super-volunteer John Meixner and his amazing crew. Many thanks to John, his wife Judy, and to our sponsors This link opens in a new window and requires Acrobat Reader, including Fitz’s Root Beer, Save a Lot and North Star Ice Cream.

We also want to thank all the amazing volunteers including groups from RubinBrown, Epsilon Sigma Alpha, the Junior League and Webster University.

Last but certainly not least, very special congratulations go out to Arc staffers Megan Favazza and Bre Runge who coordinated the decor and activities with the Olympics theme!
