Sibshops & TEEN Sibshops

Being the brother or sister of a person with a developmental disability can be a GOOD THING, or sometimes a NOT-SO-GOOD-THING, and many times--SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN.

Sibshops and TEEN Sibshops celebrate the many contributions made by brothers and sisters of kids with developmental disabilities.  These programs provide brothers and sisters with peer support and education in a lively, recreational context.  Monthly activities are a fun mix of games, activities, friends and discussion.

St. Louis Arc's Sibshops are open to children ages 6 to 11.  Sibshops meet the first Wednesday of every month during the school year.  Cost is $35 per child for the series.  Children may join at any time during the year, and scholarships are available.  In order to participate, children must be pre-registered.

St. Louis Arc's TEEN Sibshops are open to children ages 12 to 15.  Fees are charged per event to cover costs of activity and snacks.  Teens must also pre-register in order to participate.

Both Sibshops and TEEN Sibshops are specifically designed for children without developmental disabilities.  For more information about Sibshops, please call Ann Mangelsdorf, assistant director of Family Supports and Advocacy at 314-817-2275 or email stlfamilies@slarc.org.
