Supporting People with Developmental Disabilities and Their Families Since 1950

March 6th Trivia Night through the Looking Glass!

More than 400 supporters of the St. Louis Arc gathered together at the Maryland Heights Center on Friday, March 6, 2009 for the 7th Annual Friends and Family Trivia Night. The evening’s theme was "Underground Tea Party," based on the Alice in Wonderland story. Many of the tables took the theme to heart, decorating with familiar characters from the classic book.

Emcees Sharon Spurlock and Mark Keeley wowed the crowd with their TWO costume changes. At first, Sharon dressed as the White Rabbit and Mark showed up as a figure from the Boston Tea Party...complete with powdered wig! Later in the evening, the two opted for a bigger look, dressing as Tweedledee and Tweedledum.

Congratulations to Stephanie Hoffschwelle’s team on their first place finish, with second place winner Buck Consultants and STAGES ST. LOUIS’ team in third place.

Thanks to our donors and sponsors, people taking part in Trivia Night enjoyed free food, drinks and could bid on some fantastic prizes during our silent auction.

Special thanks to volunteers from Job’s Daughters and Sigma Delta who kept things moving smoothly in the kitchen and around the tables. Other volunteers and staff from the Arc helped out by serving on committees and setting up the auditorium. Still more served as judges, sold raffle and 50-50 tickets and helped with the silent auction. Our youngest volunteer: 7 year old Chelsea Neal, who was the PERFECT pint-sized Alice in her costume.

The "Underground Tea Party Trivia" raised over $12,000 to benefit St. Louis Arc's programs for people with developmental disabilities and their families. To view all the photos from the 2009 event on the Photobucket website, click here.
