Falling Into Green at Arc in the Park
On Saturday, October 3, 2009, more than 500 people braved a chilly autumn afternoon and decided it was time to “Fall Into Green.” The annual Arc in the Park picnic, held once again in Creve Coeur Park, took on a recycling and earth-friendly theme. The event was the perfect opportunity for the people we support, along with their families, friends and staff, to come together and enjoy fun, food and each other. Over the years, it’s evolved into one of the most-anticipated parties at the Arc!
The "Fall Into Green" theme featured craft projects made from recycled materials collected by Arc employees. Everyone had a fantastic time turning throw-away items into fun keepsakes of the day. Entertainment included a DJ and dancing, St. Louis Clowns of America and magician Larry Minth.
There was also a ton of food, with BBQ served up by John Meixner and his team of volunteers. No one left with an empty stomach!
We want to thank EVERYONE who helped make the day such fun for the people we support and their families, including Save-A-Lot, Fitz’s, Ameren, John and the BBQ volunteers, the Knights of Columbus-New Melle, Bob and Heather Cook, Ken Lynch, Tony and Donna Melsheimer, Motion Industries and Sam’s Club.
We also extend sincere thanks to two groups who sent volunteers: the Special School District and the Junior League.
