Gifts by Will (Bequests)

Including a bequest to the St. Louis Arc in your will is one of the simplest ways to make a legacy gift and support our work. A bequest can be made by preparing a new will or by adding a codicil to your existing will. Similar steps can be taken if you have established a revocable (“living”) trust.
Specific Unrestricted Bequest
-For a specific dollar amount or specific property (securities, real estate, etc.).
-For a percentage of your estate.
“I hereby bequeath (a specific dollar amount or specific property, or a percentage of your estate) to the St. Louis Arc, 1177 N. Warson Road, St. Louis, MO 63132, or its lawful successor.”
-To give all or a portion of that which is left in your estate after all other bequests, debts, taxes and expenses have been distributed.
“I hereby bequeath all (or a certain percentage of) my residuary estate to the St. Louis Arc, 1177 N. Warson Road, St. Louis, MO 63132, or its lawful successor.”
- To make a bequest on condition that a certain event must occur.
- To name a secondary beneficiary for all or a portion of your estate in case the first beneficiary does not survive you.
“I hereby bequeath $50,000 to my sister, Jane Doe, or in the event that she shall predecease me, I direct that this amount be paid to the St. Louis Arc, 1177 N. Warson Road, St. Louis, MO 63132, or its lawful successor.”
