"Chinese New Year" Trivia Night Volunteers
Celebrate the Year of the Dragon and be part of the Arc's most popular special event!  Volunteers are needed to sell 50/50 tickets and monitor the silent auction. The evening's proceeds benefit the St. Louis Arc.

Friday, March 9, 2012 from  6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. 

Employee Appreciation Party Assistants
This event serves as an opportunity to thank the 400+ employees of the St. Louis Arc for their dedication to people with developmental disabilities.  This year's event will include a buffet dinner, awards, and prizes.  Volunteers will be handling registration and assisting with the prizes.  Volunteers must be over 21.

Friday, March 30, 2011 from  6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Camp Warson
This week-long, full-day camp provides affordable respite for families during spring break.  The campers, age 13 and up, have a wide variety of developmental disabilities and individual needs.  Volunteers will assist with camp activities - crafts, food, games.  This opportunity is perfect for a college alternative spring break group of up to 10 members.  Must be 18 and up.

March 19 - 23, 2012

Bowling Assistants
Bowling leagues allow adults with developmental disabilities to enhance old bowling skills and learn new ones. Bowling assistants help keep score, enter names into the computer, assist bowlers with getting balls and shoes, and provide encouragement. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old.

Saturdays from September - April, two locations

Dance Chaperones
Dances are for adults 18 yrs. and older with disabilities.  Volunteers set-up, serve refreshments, assist people with the food line, and clean-up.  During the dance, volunteers are encouraged to socialize and dance with participants.  Volunteer must be at least 12 years old.

Once a month from September - May, two locations

In addition to our current special events/group volunteer opportunities, we welcome groups to work with us to create opportunities based on members' interest.  Civic or corporate group project examples include:
    • Landscaping or gardening
    • Painting, cleaning or organizing
    • Fundraising
    • Hosting cookouts or picnics with activities
    • Hosting a movie night or karaoke party
    • Hosting a sporting event party, bingo, or game night
    • Sharing a special skill (arts & crafts, drawing, playing the guitar, etc.)
    • Donating items from our wish list.
