Legacy Giving

Gifts by Will | Life Insurance | Retirement Plans | Charitable Trusts

Legacy giving (often called planned giving) is a means of making a future gift, often very substantial in nature, by using the assets in your estate.

Some people think they do not have an “estate”—and that only the wealthy can be benefactors. This simply isn’t true. Everyone has an estate, and the better you plan for its eventual use, the greater and more beneficial it can be. Many people are surprised to find that once they have provided for their family and dependents, they still have something left to donate to an important cause—especially one that has touched their lives or the life of a loved one.

Legacy and planned giving to the St. Louis Arc can take many forms, including gifts by will, gifts of life insurance or retirement plan assets, and charitable trusts — and there may be tax benefits for you and for your estate. If legacy giving interests you, the St. Louis Arc and your financial advisors can help you select the form of gift that best meets your goals.
