January Community Engagement and Aging with Empowerment Programs

COVID case counts in our area are rapidly increasing, with case counts and the positivity rate in St. Louis hitting the highest number yet recorded during this pandemic. This, coupled with the significant shortage of testing options, has led the St. Louis Arc to the decision to extend the holiday closure for Community Engagement and Aging with Empowerment programs for an additional week. This means that both programs will now be closed through January 7, with our planned reopening on  Monday, January 10. This decision was not made lightly and we recognize the potential disruption to individuals and families. This decision was made out of an abundance of caution as we want to avoid any possible exposures that could result from people returning to program while potentially infectious. It is hoped that this additional week will allow those that are ill time to get tested and recover as needed. We will continue to offer an array of classes and activities via Zoom for CE and AWE participants throughout next week.

Health and safety are always our primary concern and we thank you for your understanding and patience as we continue to prioritize that and navigate the challenges of this pandemic. Updates will be sent to participants and families, as well as posted on the Arc’s Facebook page if there are any changes to these plans as this situation is evolving.
