The Arc’s Family Support team is committed to connecting families with resources and providing opportunities for support and growth. Not even a pandemic could stop them from being a support system for the many families throughout the Arc community. From talking to overwhelmed family members to offering virtual workshops and support groups, the Arc is staying true to its mission of providing high-quality services, family support, and advocacy.

For the past two months the Family Support department has continued to provide individualized support to families via telephone and virtual meetings. Connecting families to area resources has always been a key component of the department. With more individuals out of work, limited availability of area transportation, and family routines disrupted, finding resources has become even more essential.

As more families have settled into their new home routines, Family Support has moved many of their supports online. Workshops, support groups, and Meetups are all being offered virtually. The team is continuing to adapt to the needs of Arc families and offering familiar and new supports each week. A full, up-to-date calendar of activates can be found on the Arc’s website.
