Join our “Ambassadors of Fun”
St. Louis Arc volunteers are great examples of our core values – Respect, Collaboration, and Empowerment – and have been dubbed our “ambassadors of fun.” Our volunteers include recent retirees who are looking to stay active, college students exploring potential career paths, families who want to learn more about their communities, and corporate groups giving back to the region.
What can volunteers do?
Volunteers can get involved with a number of different activities from sports and recreation to special events and leisure activities. Current opportunities include art classes for children and adults, friendship classes and social groups for teens, Aging With Empowerment program to help older adults stay physically, mentally, and socially active, and many more options! Visit our current list of Individual Volunteer opportunities.
How do I become a volunteer?
The St. Louis Arc Volunteer Coordinator works with individuals to assist them in completing the new volunteer process. This simple process can usually be completed within 1-2 weeks.

What is my commitment?
The volunteer commitment is different for everyone. We have individual volunteers who have been volunteering for over 20 years across different programs and some group volunteers who come once a year. The commitment depends on the program the volunteer chooses. We have weekly, monthly, and one-time opportunities available.
