Become a St. Louis Arc Volunteer
Just like our staff, St. Louis Arc volunteers are great examples of our core values – Respect, Collaboration, and Empowerment. Our volunteers include retirees who are looking to stay active, college students exploring potential career paths, members of the community who want to share their time and expertise, families who want to learn more about their communities, and corporate groups giving back to the region.
What can volunteers do?
Volunteers can get involved with a number of different activities from sports and recreation to special events and leisure activities. The Arc offers a wide range of opportunities and we are committed to finding the right fit for you and the people we support. Most St. Louis Arc programs require volunteers to be 18+. However, there are a handful of opportunities available to individuals who are at least 16 years of age and up.
How do I become a volunteer?
The St. Louis Arc Volunteer Coordinator works with individuals to assist them in completing the new volunteer process.

What is my commitment?
The volunteer commitment is different for everyone. We have individual volunteers who have been volunteering for over 20 years across different programs and some group volunteers who come once a year. The commitment depends on the program the volunteer chooses. We have weekly, monthly, and one-time opportunities available.
Practicums and Internships
The St. Louis Arc welcomes inquiries from students interested in practicums or internship projects. Each year, practicum students and interns observe, work and learn in a wide range of positions at the St. Louis Arc. Learn more about how to apply.
