Understanding that finding a new home is a decision that takes many factors into account, Arc staff are available to help discuss options for you or your loved one with a disability. For more than 35 years, Mary Anne Tolliver has been supporting individuals and families in their residential goals at the St. Louis Arc. Mary Anne supports individuals of various ages (30 years +) identify and achieve their vision of a good life. In addition to supporting someone in finding a good fit in their next home, the Arc supports family members and caregivers in navigating the process.
Finding the Right Fit
The transition to a new home can take time to ensure the right fit for an individual. “The first thing I ask is what supports does an individual need, what are their interests, and what is their vision of a good life. With that information I am able to identify the options available at the St. Louis Arc”, says Mary Anne. Before individuals move into a new home, visits are scheduled to ensure a good fit for both the person moving in as well as existing roommates.
