As we approach the end of October, the St. Louis Arc would like to recognize National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). This national campaign raises awareness about disability employment issues and celebrates the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities.
The St. Louis Arc’s Supported Employment team was busy in fiscal year 2017, supporting 100 individuals with disabilities obtain employment in the community, the first step to ensuring a life above the poverty line. The team has continued to push themselves, hoping to assist another 140 individuals obtain jobs here in the St. Louis area. Since July, the St. Louis Arc has helped 26 people with disabilities to start their careers. The St. Louis Arc is constantly creating relationships with area employers to help build their work force with reliable employees.
