Terrell

Helping the people we support find their voice—through music, art, drama or other mediums of their choosing--is a top priority at the St. Louis Arc.

Terrell is the perfect example. For Terrell, playing music is not just a creative outlet. It’s a passion that’s grown to include himself, Arc staff members and his many friends.

Terrell attends the St. Louis Arc’s Community Integration program. Community Integration provides daily support to adults with developmental disabilities so they can participate in their community. St. Louis Arc staffers help the people taking part identify their interests and pursue their own personal goals.

Terrell’s goal was to share his love of drumming with his friends. With some help from St. Louis Arc staff members, Terrell started a drumming club, which has now grown to include more than a dozen members. "I got it started," Terrell explains. "I’ve got self-determination and I got it started."

Terrell and "The Bangers" have performed at various St. Louis Arc functions and out in the community—sharing their gift and making a difference throughout the St. Louis area.
